Protests in Bangladesh To Cause Traffic Disruptions
The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) is planning marches and protests in the major cities of Dhaka and Chittagong on December 21st. The BNP is a center-right political party that opposes the Bangladesh Awami League, which is the current party in power. Transportation routes where the marches will occur could be shut down. Traffic disruptions around the cities are likely due to vandalism, torched vehicles, and police clashes. On Sunday, December 18, protests in Dhaka left one person dead, two injured, and dozens of vehicles set on fire.
