Business activities in northern Colombia have been affected by one of the biggest armed strike imposed after the killing of the leader of the Urabenos on January 1st 2012, one of the most powerful drug trafficking gangs in Colombia. Residents were threatened by members of the Urabenos to shut down business and public services. Public and commercial transportation is paralyzed in some areas of the departments of Sucre, Cordoba, Choco, Antioquia and Magdalena - the most affected departments in Colombia. Companies operating in Colombia should remain under alert and protect their businesses and employees since the strike is expected to last until today, Friday 6, 2012.
