Yesterday, July 23, a group of cargo thieves attempted to hijack a truck loaded with electrodomestics (Elektra) along the Puebla – Orizaba highway (km 215). The truck was parked on the side of the highway due to mechanical problems. The armed security escorts felt threatened by the thieves and began shooting. Two criminals and one of the security escorts died during the confrontation.
