Starting on June 11, flash flooding and landslides ravished parts of Taiwan. The torrential downpour in the capital city of Taipei was brought on by a southwestern front. The flooding has caused four deaths and required more than 3,000 people to be evacuated. As a result of the flooding and evacuations, many businesses are closed and transportation delayed. Several airports, including Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport, the largest in Taiwan, have delayed or cancelled flights. Railways have also had to delay or cancel trips due to flooding along tracks and rail stations. The rain is expected to last through June 13th.
