In the Philippines on March 15, a nationwide strike by transportation workers will take place to protest the government’s plan to raise fuel prices. The protests will take place in Metro Manila and other major cities throughout the Philippines and will involve taxi operators, private bus services and government employees. Participants are planning to cause disruptions at train stations and bus terminals as well, particularly at the Manila Light Rain Transit System and the Manila Metro Rail Transit System. Protestors have not specified a beginning and ending time and date for the strike, but disruptions and delays in the transportation sector should be expected in the Philippines for the next few days.
