On May 16, in protest of government austerity measures, activists are calling for mass demonstrations in Frankfurt, Germany. City authorities are concerned that the demonstrations could become violent and therefore have banned most of them. A march on May 19 at 12:00 from the city’s main rail station to the headquarters of the European Central Bank is still planned. It is possible that despite the bans from city authorities, protests in Frankfurt will still take place, but it is unlikely that they will be violent. Travelers and transporters throughout the city should expect and prepare for potential traffic disruptions from May 16-19.
