Strong winds and heavy rains on Tuesday caused disruptions to railways and airlines in parts of Japan. The weather, which mostly affected Western Japan and Tokyo, delayed or cancelled some rail services in the region. Airlines including Japan airlines and All Nippon Airways cancelled more than 240 domestic flights, but no international flights were cancelled. The heavy rains threatened northern regions along the Sea of Japan with flooding, landslides, and waves potentially reaching 30 feet tall. The severe weather is expected to continue through Wednesday, April 4.
