Today, February 22, a commuter train crashed into the end platform of a busy station in the city of Buenos Aires (Once station). The incident occurred during the morning rush hours - more than 600 passengers were injured and 49 were killed. Police reports indicate that the train was travelling too fast when it hit the end of the platform. Other reports state that the derailment was caused by brake failure. Areas surrounding the station and near highways are currently closed causing major traffic disruptions and delays.
